Mood Boosting Rissoles

Turkey is a wonderful source of protein and is particularly high in the amino acid tryptophan. This amino acid is essential, meaning it cannot be synthesised (made) within the body and must be obtained from the diet. Tryptophan plays a role in serotonin synthesis, which is a key neurotransmitter that supports mood stability and sleep quality!

  • 500g Turkey mince 
  • ½ bunch parsley (finely diced)
  • 1 brown onion (finely diced)
  • 1 zucchini (grated)
  • 1 egg (whisked)
1.  Place all ingredients in a large bowl then use your hands to massage together until combined well. 
2.  Roll the mixture into equal sized balls then flatten into a rissole.
3.  Heat extra virgin olive oil in a frying pan on medium heat. 
4.  Cook for approximately 5 minutes on each side. 
5.  Repeat until all rissoles are cooked through. Re Oil the pain as needed. 
  • Colic Baby Friendly: Replace the onion with 1 tbsp of garlic infused or plain olive oil.
  • More rissoles double the ingredients.
  • Storage: In an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freezer for up to 3 weeks.
